Georgette Fabric

The crepe family of fashion textiles includes the translucent woven silk fabric called georgette, which has a wonderful drape and a slightly crinkled surface. Georgette is a light, airy fabric with a flowing look. Georgette is recognisable by its wrinkled appearance due to the tightly twisted threads utilised in the fabric. In particular for dresses and skirts, this fabric is incredibly flowing and has a lovely structure and drape. It may be laid over more solid textiles to enhance depth and provide a striking impression. Georgette moves somewhat because of its weave and densely twisted strands.
